Wellness at The Alpine Lodge

A calm floor, reserved for our guests

The Spa & Wellness area is open to hotel guests only and occupies its own quiet floor, away from the lobby and restaurant. Towels and bathrobes are provided in every room, so you can come down in comfort — simply bring your swimwear.

Between sauna sessions, our relaxation lounge with its open fireplace is the place to slow down, read and let the mountain air do its work.

Finnish sauna

Built from local larch and heated to a dry 85–90 °C, our Finnish sauna is the heart of the spa. Every evening our sauna master holds an aufguss ritual at 18:00 and 20:00, pouring aromatic oils over the hot stones and fanning the steam through the room.

  • Temperature: dry heat of 85–90 °C
  • Aufguss ritual with essential oils: daily at 18:00 and 20:00
  • Cool-down on the snow terrace or in the cold plunge pool

Steam bath

A gentle, moist heat of around 42–45 °C at almost 100% humidity. The steam bath is especially kind to the respiratory system — it loosens the airways and eases tension in the muscles. Rest on the warmed stone benches for 10 to 15 minutes; it is the softer counterpart to the Finnish sauna.

  • Temperature: 42–45 °C at almost 100% humidity
  • Recommended session: 10–15 minutes
  • Soothing for the respiratory system

Outdoor hot tub

Heated to a steady 38–40 °C, our outdoor hot tub looks straight out over the Eiger and the surrounding peaks. It is at its best at sunset, when the last light catches the north face and the steam rises into the cold mountain air. Open in every season — in winter you can soak while the snow falls around you.

  • Water temperature: 38–40 °C, open all year
  • Best at sunset, with a direct view of the Eiger
  • Robes, towels and a warm drink within reach

Massages & treatments

In two quiet treatment rooms, our therapists offer a range of massages to help you switch off after a day in the mountains: a relaxing full-body massage, a sports massage for tired muscles, or a warming hot-stone massage with heated basalt stones. Every treatment comes as a 50- or 80-minute session and is booked at reception.

  • Relaxing full-body massage
  • Sports massage for tired muscles
  • Hot-stone massage with heated basalt stones
  • 50 or 80 minutes — booked at reception
